Mozambique weather is ideal for tourism related activities all year round!
Mozambique crosses the tropic of Capricorn giving the country of Mozambique a tropical climate with plenty of sunshine all through the year. It rarely gets cold.
The average temperature is around 28°C, and the weather along the coast is sunny and warm even in midwinter.
Mozambique weather is characterised by seasonal rains at a specific time of the year.
The rainy season is from November to April and the temperatures can get very hot and humid, particularly between December and February. A few spells of rain occur during the months of April to May and rain is very unusual between June and November.
Mozambique enjoys an average of 8 to 9 hours of sunshine daily throughout the year. Climate varies according to area.
Inland is cooler than the coast and rainfall higher as the land rises, with most rain between January and March.
Temperatures and rainfall patterns vary greatly between the regions of the country. The areas along Mozambique's north-eastern coast are the hottest and most humid in the country, while the high-altitude regions in the Nampula and Niassa provinces are the coolest. Conditions along the coast can be oppressively hot and humid; while inland the cooler nights relieve the heat of the day.
What to pack for a holiday to Mozambique
Due to the climate and culture, dress codes are very relaxed, with sarongs, shorts and T-shirts being quite acceptable at most places.Tropical lightweights such as light cotton tops and pants, with light warm layers for evenings are acceptable. Also do bring lots of sunscreen, preferably waterproof - careful not to get burnt on your holiday, the air is clear and the UV (Ultra Violet light) index can get high making burning in the sun, and indeed when snorkelling and swimming, very quick.
Mosquito repellents are advised at night especially in the wetter season.

We had the good fortune of experiencing an idyllic, memorable and relaxing break for a week at this picturesque lodge, right on the beach. From the moment we arrived, the staff and management made us feel very welcome.
