The Bazaruto Archipelago is a world renowned deep-sea fishing destination, particularly for marlin and sailfish anglers. Fishing is excellent all year round, especially for giant king fish, king mackerel, yellow fin tuna and barracuda, with dorado and wahoo being found in the summer months.

Come fishing with us in and around the prolific waters of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Let one of our knowledgeable local skippers take you expertly to the current fishing hot spot aboard one of our fishing vessels - be it for game fishing, drop shotting, light tackle or fly fishing.

October to February produces three species of Marlin, mainly Black, Blue and Stripped. For the Sailfish enthusiast the best months are May to July. Fly fishing is available from the shores of one of the idyllic islands, the sand flats around the Archipelago or out at sea.

At Beach Lodge, we support catch and release but a fish for the pot is accepted. On return from a day's fishing, you can kick up your feet around our pool and brag about the one that got away.

“isolated wonderland”

Spent 4 days at this recently revamped lodge. Approximately a 2 hour flight from Johannesburg. This town north of Maputo is very close to the Bazaruto islands.

The rooms are air conditioned with no telephones and no television which is very relaxing. Cell phone reception is good.

The restaurant area is open and facing the new fantastic infinity pool (55000l). Lazing around the pool is idyllic but the sun is a scorcher and therefore take a lot of extra strong sun block.

An excellent choice of water activities are available (weather permitting) such as scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing and dhow sailing.
